Lisa & Tye - Wedding @ Home

Lisa & Tye are an amazing couple and I was very excited to be asked to photograph their wedding.
They met a few years ago on a trip to Thailand, hit it off and the rest, as they say, is history.
Their wedding was on New Year's Eve and it was the coolest way ever for them to see in
the New Year with their friends and family.
This couple isn't afraid of hard work and a little bit of stress. When I met them earlier last year they told me that their wedding would be held in their house in Waverley - what a lovely idea - except that way back then the house hadn't been built. Nothing like a bit of added pressure to an already pretty hectic time - I've watched enough episodes of Grand Designs to know that a home build hardly ever gets finished when you expect it to. But... Lisa & Tye not only managed to organise a pretty awesome wedding, they got their house finished too.
Outstanding and it worked absolutely perfectly for their wedding celebrations.

Lisa made her own flowers - she is one clever lady.

Tye's Dad made the wedding rings. How cool is that?
If that's not special enough for you, they were actually made from Lisa and Tye's grandparents (or maybe it was great-grandparents) special treasures reincarnated into these two beautiful wedding rings. How special is that!

Lisa - you are absolutely stunning. I love the vintage look and it totally suits you.

Lisa's amazing Dad chauffeured us around on our photo shoot down the peninsula and back again.
Lisa & Tye decided to have their photo session before the ceremony - just as well too as the rain only held off until late afternoon and we would have got drenched if we'd done it the other way.
This did mean a bit of creative thinking so we could capture Tye's first look at Lisa.

I'm thinking that he liked what he saw....

The Outstanding Orange Front Door of the new house aka the wedding venue.
We popped in our way past to get some photos before the guests arrived.
Loving that door!

The view from the upstairs deck - no wonder they decided to settle here - it's stunning.

The countdown to 2017 is on.

And off out into a chilly mid summer day in Dunedin - not for the faint hearted.

Seeking shelter from a bit of damp weather in some of Dunedin's shelterd spots.

And now for the more serious part of the day....

I love how the sparkly lights look in the photos -
I think you should leave them up permanently they are just so pretty.

Thanks for including me in your New Year celebrations - what a way to celebrate your love for each other. I am in awe of how you put together this amazing day and all the hard work that went into making it so beautiful. If you invest as much into your marriage it will be amazing.

Much love to you both.
